EASTBOURNE BANDSTAND

At the Cumberland Hotel in Eastbourne, we proudly sit right in the centre of the seafront, very close to Eastbourne bandstand. They have many types of music to suit all tastes, ranging from traditional brass bands, right the way through to tribute actsfirework concerts. The Bandstand also puts on Sunday Night on the Proms, which is held most throughout the summer and Gilbert and Sullivan concerts every Monday evening. There are many more exciting evenings throughout the year!


EASTBOURNE CARPET GARDENS

Being centrally located, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful Carpet Gardens of Eastbourne. During the summer they a stunning sight, stretching from the the pier to the Cumberland hotel. If you decide to keep on walking along the promenade it runs from the Sovereign Centre down past Treasure Island and Fort Fun all the way to Holywell near the foot of Beachy Head. There are cafes and ice cream stands dotted all the way along, so there are plenty of places to take a well earned break.


THEATRES IN EASTBOURNE

Eastbourne is definitely the place to go if you are fan of the stage. There is the south coast’s largest theatre, the Congress Theatre, the grand Victorian splendour of the Devonshire Park Theatre, the Winter Garden and the Royal Hippodrome home of Eastbourne’s summer season variety show.


BEACHY HEAD AND THE SEVEN SISTERS

If walking is your passion, then the world famous Beachy Head is only a few miles away. This is a fair walk if you are a hardened walker, but is only a ten minute car journey if you would like to just sit and enjoy the views. The Seven Sisters Country Park is only a bit further, but well worth a visit. You can just stroll along the pathway with the meandering Cuckmere river to your right, until you reach the sea – a lovely way to spend the afternoon!


SHOPPING IN EASTBOURNE

However if it is shopping you would like to do, then the town centre is about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. You will find most of the big names here or inside the Arndale shopping centre.


EASTBOURNE PIER

Or perhaps the pier will take your fancy. Take a leisurely stroll along it, have a coffee and just take in what is happening around you. Watch the fishermen at the end, or just the children playing on the beach.
